Australia requires ETA applications to be submitted from your phone using the official app. Follow the guide below to complete your application.
In order to secure your Australia ETA, you must first download the free mobile application by visiting the App store on your Iphone or Android mobile device.
Once the Australia ETA App has been downloaded, open the App and click on the “+ New ETA” button.
You will then be asked to Agree to the “Australia ETA App application consent agreement” and “Application Privacy Notice.”
You will then be prompted to scan your valid passport, take a live photo, and answer a few basic questions.
A photo of the personal data page of the passport will be taken and the information contained on that page and in the passport chip will be used for the purpose of completing some of the application.
The live photo must be of the applicant. The applicant is the person who is named on the ETA application. It must not be a photo of another person. This confirms that person applying for an ETA is the same person shown in the passport.
Not all the information necessary to complete an ETA application can be obtained directly from the passport. The answers to these questions provide more information to assist in the processing of the application.
